Festivals in the area!!

When the morning air is crisp, the afternoons are warm, the leaves start changing colors, and the apple houses are open means one thing.  The fall season is upon us!!  When the fall season arrives it comes with lots of festivals in the area.  I have looked up some different festivals to tell you about.  These festivals are in Gilmer county and the surrounding areas.  In Jasper Georgia you have the Georgia Marble Festival.  Those dates are Oct. 2 and 3.  You can take the marble quarry tours, shop, and watch different exhibitors put on a show.  Visit http://www.pickenschamber.com/ for more information on this festival.  In Gilmer county you can enjoy the Cherry Log Festival on Oct. 2 and 3 and Oct. 9 and 10.  This is a smaller festival with booths of handmade crafts and lots of food choices.  You also have the Georgia Apple Festival in Gilmer county.  It always occurs the 2 and 3 weekends in Oct.  The dates this year are Oct. 9 and 10 and Oct. 16 and 17.  You have homemade crafts, lots of food choices, and great entertainment.  Visit http://www.georgiaapplefestival.org/ for more information.  In Blairsville you have the Georgia Sorghum Festival.  There are many food and crafts booths along with entertainment.  Visit http://www.blairsvillechamber.com/ for more information.  This is just a select few of the festivals going on in this area.  You can find more information on other festivals by visiting the local chamber of commerce websites for each county.  Come and enjoy the fall days and have a great time at one of these festivals!!
